Good for nothing is our social mission.
We give time, money and energy to do stuff to support people trying to make positive impact and change happen.
Right now we do this in 2 ways.
Firstly with drop in sessions that we’re currently piloting with Bethnal Green Ventures. Offering innovation, brand and communication support to a number of social enterprise start-ups.
And secondly through a creative, collaboration event. This brings together a large diverse group of talented people to work with grassroots, cause led social innovators in a playful, competitive, experiential event lasting for 24 to 48 hrs.
A think/hack/do/creative collaboration challenge event thing.
Good for Nothing is founded on 3 core principles
1. Doing not talking
It’s not that hard to talk clever and think big and there’s an oversupply of that in our world. But most of the time it stops at doing. And when we look around we see so much that needs doing. Roll up your sleeves and ‘fail gloriously’ as Duke once said. Good for nothing is permission to have a go, get involved, participate, to try stuff.
2. Collaborate and experiment
Words we all hear a lot but true collaboration, where real diversity and open-ness is welcomed, where we let go of power and control, where we self organize and allow ideas and energy to emerge more naturally and where we prototype and develop them rapidly. We want to do more of that.
3. Support the true innovators
Give creative energy to the real innovators trying to make positive change happen. When we look around for social, environmental and human innovation, we feel most of the exciting stuff is happening at grassroots level. We provide creative support and do to those pioneers. We think that can help accelerate positive change and impact.
Good for Nothing is also about connecting with different people and having fun, but our hope is that one day we might have a friendly network of talented folk all over the place on all sorts of missions of creative good.
